Be the

Change

Hello! I'm Katya Homa, a full-cycle product designer based in New York City, currently shaping the future of Gen AI at Meta. Prior to this, I honed my skills with industry giants like McKinsey, Facebook and Samsung . Outside work I am teaching, mentoring, exploring  the future possibilities of the AI, VR.

My passion lies in designing transformative experiences that empower leaders to make a positive mark on the world. I approach design with a team mindset.
For over a decade I've been partnering with user researchers, data scientists, and product managers to identify new opportunities for innovation in ambiguous problem spaces, designing end-to-end experiences that delight millions of users, and working alongside engineering partners to ensure that those experiences are feasible, performant, and accessible

Working with me

I make it a priority to communicate regularly with all involved parties and across functions. I openly share what I’m working on, my priorities, progress and present progress at least every week. Always grateful for feedback.
It ensures that priorities are addressed, minimizes misunderstandings, and enhances collaboration. I actively include and invite cross-functional team members to user testing, brainstorming sessions, and sprints. Similarly, I seek involvement in the development process to connect research with execution, share the intent behind design decisions, and ultimately help the product reach its best possible state.
02

What sets me apart

My ability to learn fast, stay deeply curious, and approach every challenge with empathy. I thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy running workshops and facilitating sprints that bring ideas to life.
I have experience managing and front end development.
Beyond design, my superpowers extend to problem-solving—whether it’s through Legos, puzzles, or sewing (by hand, machine, and decorative). This unique blend of creativity, precision, and structured thinking allows me to craft thoughtful, user-centered solutions with both speed and depth.
03

User First Approach

I strive to make digital products that are both functional and beautiful. While I’m results-driven, my approach is deeply human-centered, leveraging design thinking to craft intuitive and meaningful experiences.
Desirability, Feasibility, Viability
I am employing design thinking, pulling together what’s desirable from a human point of view with what is technologically feasible and economically viable. I use user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences—from concept to execution.
